Product Announcement: Spotting Drills

Scientific Cutting Tools is launching a brand new line of spotting drills. These solid carbide drills are a valuable first step in the hole making process. The precise point angle is held to a one-degree tolerance for true centering. Covering a wide range of sizes, tools are stocked with 82°, 90°, 100°, 120° and 142° point angles. For optimal performance, choose a spotting drill angle that is equal or greater than the angle of the following drill. All spotting drills are designed with a 4-facet point and constant web for easy resharpening. AlTiN coating is highly recommended for extended tool life.

Spotting drills are a part of Scientific Cutting Tools’ “Specialty Tools” group which includes helical chamfer mills, engraving tools, and corner rounding end mills. All tools are made from premium submicron carbide. They are ground on modern CNC tools-and-cutter grinders to tight tolerances and have been engineered for high performance.
