Coatings boost the durability of industrial cutting tools by increasing hardness and extending tool life. They reduce friction, improve surface finishes, and withstand high temperatures. Coatings also enhance cutting efficiency and minimize chipping and cracking, leading to better precision and quality in manufacturing.
Alongside our well-established AlTiN+ coating (top tools), we are now offering two
advanced coatings for non-ferrous tools: ZrCN (middle tools) and TaC coating (bottom tools).
AlTiN+ (Aluminum Titanium Nitride)
This is a high-performance coating in ferrous materials. It can extend the life of your tool up to fourteen times. It produces an aluminum oxide layer at high temperatures which reduces thermal conductivity, transferring heat into the chip.
Availability: AlTiN+ coating is available on all tool lines.
ZrCN (Zirconium Carbonitride)
Composed of zirconium, carbon, and nitrogen, ZrCN coatings offer a unique combination of hardness, toughness, and chemical stability. It is designed to further enhance tool performance with reduced cycle time and resistance to wear. It excels in drilling and reaming non-ferrous materials.
Availability: ZrCN coating is available on reamer-style and pilotless Port Tool lines, as well as other tools upon request.
TaC (Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon)
TaC coating is a high-performance material known for its unique structure, which combines the hardness of diamond with the flexibility of amorphous carbon. This coating exhibits excellent wear resistance, low friction, and high durability, making it ideal for demanding applications. TaC coating is a type of Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating. The hard carbon enhances its hardness and performance.
Availability: TaC coating is available on straight flute and SPTM Thread Mill lines, as well as other tools upon request.
