Modifications

Scientific Cutting Tools can modify many standard tools with fast turn around: most items within 5 working days. Modifications can help specific cutting needs for better function such as decreased tool pressure, helping prevent potential breakage, accessibility issues such as length or depth of cut.

Thread Mills

  • Reduce length-of-cut (cut off) to increase strength

  • Neck back thread mills for greater depth of cut

  •     Increase tool reach (“B” length)

  •     Modify groove width

  • Add coolant channels

  • Resharpen and recoat

  • Add shank flat or Weldon flat

Port Tools

  • Reduce spot face diameter or
    shank diameter

  • Reduce length of reamer pilot
    (“J” length)
