New Versatile SAEJ1926-X Port Tools

Designed for Versatility

The SAEJ1926-X series is a brand-new style of port tools by Scientific Cutting Tools that meet the SAEJ1926/1 and MS16142 port specifications. This tool offering is ideal for non-standard thread minor diameters and lengths. The tools have three flutes, are coolant through, and do not have a pilot diameter.

This series is also designed to replace SCT’s line of piloted port tools. Historically, solid pilot tools were used to line up the tool to the hole when using manual milling or drilling equipment. With the widespread use of modern CNC equipment, the solid pilot is no longer necessary, and sometimes detrimental. The SAEJ1926-X will cut the required spot face and O-Ring taper only; it does not cut the thread minor diameter. A coolant hole to each flute aids with increased chip evacuation, higher speeds and feeds, and longer tool life. The body of the port tool is made of heat- treated alloy steel and the brazed inserts are made of premium quality sub-micron carbide. The polished flute face optimizes performance for a smoother surface finish. Tools are in stock and available to order either uncoated or AlTiN+ coated. For ferrous and hard-to-machine materials, the coated version is highly recommended.
