Built for aluminum manifolds, valve bodies, and other non-ferrous applications, SCT Non-Ferrous Port Kits bring together a matched drill, porting tool, and 15° helical thread mill in one streamlined solution. These kits use a mixed coating approach by tool type, with Zirc (ZrCN) on the drill and porting tool and Onyx DLC (ta-C) on the thread mill.
Built for non-ferrous machining, tool by tool
Non-ferrous machining brings its own set of challenges. Aluminum and similar materials can create built-up edge, affect finish quality, and interrupt process consistency when the tooling is not matched to the application.
That is why these kits are built with a mixed coating strategy. The drill and porting tool are coated with Zirc, while the 15° helical thread mill is coated with Onyx DLC. Instead of treating the kit as a one-coating-fits-all solution, each tool is aligned with the job it performs in the process.
